2.8 Where to use ideocalligraphy

Where to use them? The choice is yours. I paint them on cotton, linen and silk with my egg tempera, and on pottery. Some poems may have an ideocalligraph cluster as a heading. I engrave them in reindeer horn and wood. On paper I write with Chinese and Japanese brushes, home-made reed and bamboo pens, felt and fountain pens. On plaster walls, their cracks belong in the constellation, adding depth and distance. And then, incised on stone ... they can belong anywhere.

The same ideocalligraph written one centimetre high on paper can be enlarged and used alone or accompanied by a series of composite ideocalligraphs several meters high on the wall of a building. Many examples of their use can be seen, both simple and more complex, in Forum tab and in Part 3.3: Constellations. These examples demonstrate how they can be written left to right, right to left, in columns or within any appropriate space as a centered, inter-dependant group.

One essential thing to always bear in mind is that everyone is free to use ideocalligraphs, unburdened by any copyright restrictions!
