1.8 Ideocalligraphic style
Each person's ideocalligraphic style will have its own overall character:
angular or flowing, rough or precise, elaborated or stark. This basic style is
then influenced by the subject matter to be communicated and ideocalligrapher's
mind-set while writing. Speed or scrupulous care, generous or cramped use of
space, size variations between ideocalligraphs and emphasized or ignored use of
perspective all have their bearing on the end result. Of course, the choice of
writing instruments will have its crucial influence.
And style with the years may metamorphose. There is a sureness in unknowing that can lead to bold improvisation!
